About

The original Wrestling Weekly was an Internet radio show hosted by radio personality Doc Young along with wrestling legend Les Thatcher. The show began in July of 2005 and ran regularly for two and a half years. Each week, the dynamic duo would cover the latest news from the industry, discuss the weekly WWE and TNA TV shows and pay-per-views, and invite guests to join them. These guests included both wrestling journalists and industry insiders (such as Bryan Alvarez, Bruce Mitchell, and Adam Martin), as well as wrestlers, promoters, bookers, and personalities working in the business from a wide range of different eras and promotions.

The guests ranged from some of the most legendary names in the industry (Mick Foley, Terry Funk, "Mean" Gene Okerlund, Bobby Heenan) to then up-and-coming superstars (Samoa Joe, Sonjay Dutt, Eric Young ), to talent from well respected independent promotions like ROH and SHIMMER (Jimmy Jacobs, Nigel McGuinness, Lexie Fyfe).

In February of 2008, Wrestling Weekly came to a sudden and premature end as a result of a chronic illness suffered by Doc Young. In 2010, Doc and Les came together once again for a new incarnation of Wrestling Weekly that was made available on the subscriber-based news site Wrestling Observer under the new name "Doc Young's Wrestling Weekly".

Unfortunately, in August of 2011 Doc Young's illness returned at a severe level and he was no longer able to continue with his on-air hosting duties. Wrestling Weekly continued with Les and new co-host Vic Sosa, and Doc served as the show's producer. New episodes continued at the Wrestling Observer website, and an audio archive of the new incarnation is also available to subscribers.

On April 19th, 2017, Doc Young passed away of the illness that plagued him for so many years. Rest in peace, Doc.

The purpose of this site is to keep the memory of Doc Young and the greatest wrestling Internet radio show alive by hosting a complete audio archive of the original incarnation of the show (before it became a part of the pay site).

In the Archive section, you will find nearly every single episode of the original Wrestling Weekly ever broadcast downloadable in MP3 format - 114 episodes in all, from 2005 to the final show in 2008. Also available for download is the special 2009 episode of Peach State Pandemonium in which Doc and Les were reunited.

Doc and Les, on behalf of all the fans of Wrestling Weekly across the globe, thanks for the years of "edu-tainment"! Special thanks to Doc Young for giving me permission to go ahead with the site and letting me host the MP3s.
